The museum displays exhibits that were used by soldiers of the 20th century, which means that in the museum you can find many interesting things from the World War 1 and all the way to the Revolutionary War for Slovenia 1991. Among exhibits are some very rare or unique and they cannot be seen in any other museum. Particularly worth seeing are personal belongings of great men from the time of World War 2 who have left their mark in the history of the Slovenian nation. In addition to all these there are many other interesting exhibits, documents and photos. Visiting museum you will be even greater attracted in getting to know our recent history.
On request visitors are guided in Slovenian and Serbo-Croatian.
Idrija War Museum owner Slavko Moravec received the highest award of the municipality of Idrija “Mrakovo priznanje” for the exhibition.
Location:
The museum is located on the ground floor of the building of mining wheat storage, which was built in 1669 and stands opposite of the Anthony's Shaft, on the Old Square (Trg sv. Ahacija).
